One community was left in shock after two men died in the same house within hours of each other.

A mother was left heartbroken after her partner and teenage son died at Carlow’s home on Saturday and Sunday morning, respectively.

Sean Flynn was found at his home on the New Oak Estate around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Gardai described her death as a “tragic incident,” reports Dublin Live.

And less than 24 hours later, Sean’s mother Ann’s partner, Philip, died suddenly in the home she had attended to mourn the loss of the young teenager.

Philip O’Brien, who was 40, was found unconscious according to Gardai and was treated at the scene before dying shortly thereafter.

A Gardai spokesperson said: “We were alerted to the incident at 3:30 am on Sunday, November 1.

“His body was taken to the morgue at Waterford University Hospital and an autopsy was performed.

“His death is being treated as a sudden death.”

New Oak Community Center was the first of hundreds to honor the tragic duo.

They said on their Facebook page: “Our community has been hit by tragedy and sadness over the weekend.

“We ask you to pray for all concerned. We ask people not to be afraid to ask for help. It’s okay not to feel good.”

“God’s blessings on them and their families. RIP.”
