Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has accused Anthony Martial of “doing nothing” in his 2-1 loss to Istanbul Basaksehir.
The Frenchman scored the only goal of the Red Devils game when Manchester United were stunned by first-half goals from Demba Ba and Edin Visca.
Martial recovered one before the break, but it wasn’t enough as Man Utd couldn’t get back to level before the end of the match.

And despite his goal, Scholes was upset at Martial for “doing nothing” when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were in possession.
Scholes said BT sport: “There was an element of commitment, I think the quality was very bad.
“The number of times they gave the ball away, made bad decisions, tried to beat a man. Paul Pogba, when he came in, was trying to hit a man, trying to stop someone instead of passing and keeping him moving.
“The movement from the center to the front was practically nonexistent. Anthony Martial how many times I looked up when a midfielder had the ball stood between the two center halves doing nothing.
“It was just a real lack of quality, for me, I’m trying to find a reason for it, but at the end of the day I think they were in good positions, but in the end, the quality was very, very poor. . “
