GARDAÍ ON PEARSE Street have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted by a group of people this afternoon.
Several videos have been shared online showing a man fleeing a group. He is accosted and then attacked by several people.
One of them appears to be armed with an ax and a man can be heard yelling “hit him with it” on numerous occasions. Another man can be heard yelling “kill him.” Another video shows another armed with what appears to be a four-inch bread knife.
The man suffered serious injuries during the incident. He is described as stable in the hospital.
Gardaí said they were at the scene of the incident.
A Gardaí spokesperson said: “Gardaí is currently at the scene of an incident that occurred in the Windmill Lane / Creighton Street area of Dublin 2 on 11/03/2020 at approximately 2pm.
