Gardaí arrested two men and seized € 105,000 of suspected cannabis herb in Cork city after raids on two houses on the north side.
As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Leeside, Gardaí from the Cork City Drugs Division, assisted by the uniform and the Gardaí detective from Gurranabraher, executed two search warrants that resulted in the seizure of 105,000 euros of alleged cannabis herb.
At 7pm last night, Gardaí executed a search warrant at a home on Sundays Well Road.
During the course of this search, Gardaí seized € 85,000 of suspicious cannabis herb.
Two men, both in their 30s, were arrested at the scene and taken to the Gurranabraher Garda station. They are currently in detention under section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
A second search warrant was subsequently executed on a house on Blarney Street, resulting in the seizure of € 20,000 for alleged cannabis herb.
No further arrests were made after this search. All suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
