Dublin road closes as child on bicycle ‘badly injured’ in terrible accident

A Dublin boy was seriously injured after being hit by a car in West Dublin over the weekend.

The three-year-old was on his bike when he was crashed around 4 p.m. Saturday in Castleknock.

He was rushed to Connolly Hospital with “serious injuries” following the Riverwood Hall incident.

A man in his 30s was arrested by Gardai shortly after the accident.

He remained in Garda custody over the weekend and has since been charged and will appear in Blanchardstown court.

A Garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: “We attended the scene of a traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred at Riverwood Hall, Dublin 15, at approximately 4pm on Saturday 31st October.

“A minor was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.”

He added: “A man in his 30s was arrested a short time later in connection with this.

“He has since been charged and must appear in Blanchardstown District Court.”
