[ad_1]

Only 416 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on Saturday as optimism grows that lockdown two is working in Ireland.

The 14-day incidence rate when Ireland entered Level Five at midnight on Wednesday, October 21, was 302.5.

Based on the latest data from the Health Department, that number has dropped to 268.7 on October 30.

And rates in most counties are also falling: Only six have seen an increase in incidence rates since the lockdown began.

Carlow, Laois, Mayo, Tipperary, Waterford and Wicklow have all experienced small rate increases since the shutdown began.

However, places like Cavan and Monaghan have started to turn the tide, and their incidence rates have dropped dramatically.
