Gardaí is investigating the circumstances surrounding the inexplicable death of a man in his 40s at a home in Carlow this morning.
Shortly after 3:30 am, Ambulance Service personnel alerted Gardaí to attend a home on the New Oak estate, Carlow, where they were treating an unresponsive man.
He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter. The local coroner has been notified and the local Gardaí will carry out a technical and forensic examination of the scene.
The body of the deceased will be taken to the morgue at Waterford University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged for tomorrow.
A Garda spokesperson added: “The results of the autopsy will determine the course of the Garda investigation.”
Furthermore, the corpse of a man in his teens was discovered at the same address on Saturday morning. His death is being treated as a personal tragedy.
