Met Eireann is forecasting more severe weather Sunday even after Storm Aiden passes.
The national forecaster expects dire conditions to hit coastal areas all day with a red sea gale warning and a yellow warning issued for three counties.
The forecaster said: “Stormy Sunday with some bright or sunny spells to start.”
“However, the outbreaks of rain will spread from the southwest during the morning and afternoon, sometimes becoming intense and bringing the risk of flooding.
“Southwest winds will stay cool to strong in the southern counties, decreasing from mild to moderate elsewhere. Some patches of fog as well. Higher temperatures of 10 to 16 degrees, cooler in the north and milder in the south”.

Yellow Warning Status for Three Counties
A yellow wind status warning has been issued for three counties: Mayo, Galway, and Donegal.
The warning goes into effect at 11 p.m. Saturday night and lasts until 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
The forecaster said: “Strong south-southeast winds veering out of the southwest will reach average speeds of 50 to 65 km / h with gusts of between 90 and 100 km / h. Winds will be strongest in coastal areas.”
Red Gale Warning Status
The forecaster said: “West to Southwest winds will reach a Force 8 gale or a strong Force 9 gale today (Saturday) in Irish coastal waters from Loop Head to Malin Head to Carlingford Lough and the Northern Irish Sea.
“Storm force 10 winds will occur from Slyne Head to Rossan Point and Fair Head. Possibly reach a violent storm force 11 between Erris Head and Bloody Foreland and Fair Head.
“Southerly winds veering out of the west will reach a gale force of 8 or more tonight (Saturday night) across all Irish coastal waters and the Irish Sea, and will be confined to the northwest marine areas tomorrow ( Sunday)”.
