Sean Connery’s latest photo shows James Bond icon smiling as he hugs his son Jason

The latest photo of the late star Sir Sean Connery saw the James Bond actor pose with his son on his 89th birthday.

On Saturday, the legendary movie star’s family revealed that he had been ‘ill for some time’ before dying peacefully in his sleep in the Bahamas surrounded by loved ones.

Now her latest poignant photograph has emerged when the Scottish star posed alongside her son Jason and her partner Fiona Upton.

The healthy family photo, which was taken in August last year, saw the 007 legend playfully holding his finger in the air as he looked to the side.

Sitting between his beloved son and his companion Fiona, Sir Sean looked joyous as he celebrated another historic year with a selection of his closest and dearest ones.

His proud son Jason paid tribute to his movie star father on Saturday when he told the BBC that his death was a “sad loss for a people around the world.”

“We are all working to understand this great event as it happened very recently, even though my father has not felt well for some time,” shared Jason.

A statement from Sir Sean’s publicist read: “His wife Micheline and their two children, Jason and Stephane, have confirmed that he died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family.

“There will be a private ceremony followed by a memorial yet to be planned once the virus is over.”

Sir Sean enjoyed a long and distinguished career, but is best known for being the original James Bond and, to many fans, the best James Bond to ever exist.

The legendary star played Bond between 1962 and 1971.

Sir Sean won a number of acting awards, including an Oscar, two Bafta Awards, and three Golden Globes throughout his astonishing acting career.

He was knighted by the Queen at the Palace of Holyrood in 2000 for his contribution to the arts.
