Storm Aiden will crush Ireland over Halloween weekend with multiple warnings issued by Met Eireann.
After three separate warnings were issued on Thursday, the severity of those warnings has now increased with two orange state wind warnings now in place for 12 counties.
As for the former, there is an orange wind warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Kerry, and Waterford.
It reads: “On Saturday morning we will see strong southwesterly veering winds associated with Storm Aiden reaching average speeds of 65 to 80 km / h, with severe and damaging gusts of 100 to 130 km / h.”
That particular warning was issued at 10 a.m. From Friday, October 30 and is valid from 5 a.m. M. From Saturday until 10 a.m. M. Same day.
Elsewhere, a Status Orange wind advisory has also been issued for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Clare.
If you live in those four counties, you will experience strong southwest to west winds associated with Storm Aiden on Saturday morning and afternoon. These will reach average speeds of 65 to 80 km / h, with severe and damaging gusts of 100 to 130 km / h.
That warning was issued at 10 a.m. M. From Friday, October 30 and is in effect from 8 a.m. M. From Saturday, October 31 until 4 p.m. M. Same day.
As for the rest of Ireland’s counties, a yellow state wind advisory has been issued with “strong to strong winds from the south that will veer out of the west. There may be some strong gusts”.
Those severe conditions will last from 1 a.m. Saturday to 3 p.m. the same day.
As for the overall forecast, expect to see very wet and windy conditions Saturday morning with bouts of rain. Severe and potentially damaging gusts for a while, hence the weather warnings in place.
