The Health Department has confirmed another six Covid-19 related deaths and an additional 866 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland today.
There have been a total of 1,902 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland.
Of the cases reported today:
- 428 are men / 438 are women
- 63% are under 45 years old
- The average age is 35 years.
- 242 are in Dublin, 166 in Cork, 56 in Donegal, 54 in Galway, 44 in Meath, and the remaining 304 cases are spread over 20 other counties.
As of 2:00 p.m. today, 328 Covid-19 patients are being treated in the hospital, of which 43 are in the ICU.
An increase of 15 Covid-19 patients who received hospital treatment in the past 24 hours has been reported.
Medical Director Dr. Tony Holohan said: “It is vitally important that if you have symptoms of Covid-19 that you isolate yourself and call your GP for further advice.”
“Self-isolation means staying in your room and avoiding contact with other members of your household. Doing this will protect the people you live with by disrupting the chain of transmission. “

The news comes when Taoiseach Micheál Martin said it is “too early” to say what kind of Christmas people are facing.
Mr. Martin said the government was focusing on making the Level 5 restrictions work and that he wanted to wait until the end of November before making decisions about the holiday period.
He said: “It is too early to say what kind of Christmas we will be experiencing,” he said, adding that he had noticed a significant change in people’s mood. “
