Autopsies of a father and two sons found dead after an alleged murder-suicide have now been completed.
Gardai issued a statement tonight confirming that the results have been released to investigating officers, but will not be made public.
The bodies of Tadgh O’Sullivan and his sons Mark and Diarmuid were found at the family farm in Co Cork on Monday.
Earlier this morning it emerged that a 12-page note was found on Diarmuid’s body.
Gardai is investigating the possibility that the murder of Mark O’Sullivan was planned in advance by his brother and father.
Mark was found dead in his room in Kanturk early Monday morning, after being shot dead in the woods.
Later, his father and brother were found dead in a nearby field.
The apparent note has been described as extensive and detailed.
Gardai is still reconstructing the sequence of events that ended in bloodshed at the remote farm in Kanturk, Co Cork.
Two autopsies were performed on Tuesday to try to establish how Tadgh O’Sullivan, 59, and his sons Mark, 26, and Diarmuid, 23, lost their lives.
After the three post-mortem examinations were carried out on Wednesday, a Garda spokesperson said: “The post-mortem of the three deceased men has already been completed.
“The results of the autopsy have been turned over to the Gardaí investigation, the details of which will not be released.
“Now a file will be prepared for the Director of the Public Ministry and the Forensic Examiner.
“No further details are available.”
