Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana believes Jurgen Klopp will enjoy the Reds’ mounting injury problems.
Klopp’s defensive crisis escalated after Fabinho limped out of Tuesday night’s Champions League game against FC Midtjylland at Anfield.
Tests are scheduled to reveal the extent of Fabinho’s injury but it will almost certainly leave Klopp with Joe Gomez as the only senior center-back for this weekend’s Premier League clash with West Ham.

However, Lallana acknowledges that his former boss will “love” the “test” of winning games with an exhausted team.
“He will not use anything as an excuse, he will say that it is the same for all teams,” Lallana said. BT sport. “He’ll say, ‘we have the squad to adapt and deal with it.’
“He will face the challenge, the boys will be there tomorrow and they will recover and he will choose a team to beat West Ham. Okay, it’s going to be a test, but it’s a test that you will love and the guys will get together and help each other.
“Coming from the underprivileged region, he likes that. So there will be a little bit of him who will enjoy this test and will be excited about it. “
The Reds’ last defensive setback came around the half hour mark when Fabinho, who was playing center-back again in the absence of Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip, had to be substituted after he stopped while running.
When asked later what the first signs were in terms of the severity of Fabinho’s injury, Klopp said: “I don’t know. You know, muscle injuries are like this: you get the result, but probably tomorrow morning. So we have to wait for that. “
Both Van Dijk and Matip suffered injuries in the 2-2 draw against Everton on 17 October – the first, a knee problem that will put him aside for several months.
When asked if Matip could be available for Saturday’s home game with West Ham, Klopp said: “I don’t know, we have to see.”
Fabinho was replaced by Rhys Williams, 19, who made his fourth appearance for Liverpool and is yet to play in the Premier League.
Klopp said of Williams: “He did really well. The only problem we have now is that we have four days to go to the West Ham game and every day you will do a story about him and then he has to show that he can deal with that too, because the vibe was calm around him. “
Weighing other options from the margins of his squad, Klopp also mentioned Nathaniel Phillips and Billy Koumetio, saying: “We have very young and inexperienced alternatives, and for now it seems we have to choose one of them.
So Patrick Bamford got us thinking of absolutely random hat-trick scorers in the Premier League. Justice for “busy” Kevin Lisbie.
