Ten more people have been charged for the circulation of photos and information on social networks in connection with the trial of Ana Kriegel.

They are said to have distributed photographs allegedly identifying a teenager who was found guilty of the murder of the Lucan school girl.

Ana’s body was discovered in the abandoned building in West Dublin on May 17, 2018; the 14-year-old girl had been brutally attacked and sexually assaulted.

Two teenagers, identified in court only as Child A and Child B, were convicted of her murder in June last year.

The charges of six men between the ages of 21 and 38 and four women between the ages of 24 and 48 come after it was confirmed last week that a woman would be the first person to be prosecuted by Gardai.

He was also said to have shared the alleged details despite a court order being issued to prevent the 14-year-old boys from being named.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Ten individuals must appear in Criminal Courts of Justice in connection with an ongoing Garda investigation into the circulation of images and details on social media claiming to identify a teenager who was convicted of the murder of Ana. Kriégel.

“Of the 10 people summoned, six are men (between 21 and 38 years old) and four are women (between 24 and 48 years old)”.

Child A received a life sentence for murdering the schoolgirl, which can be reviewed after 12 years; this brings its earliest possible release date to June 18, 2031.

Child B was sentenced to 15 years, which can be reviewed after eight years, and the earliest he can get out of jail is June 18, 2027.

Boy B filed an appeal against his conviction in March of this year.

Both terms were retroactive to the time of his conviction.

The couple, who were 13 at the time of the murder that shocked Ireland, are the youngest people in the state’s history to be convicted of murder.

Child A was also found guilty of aggravated sexual assault on 14-year-old Ana, whose body was found in an abandoned house in Lucan, Co Dublin, in May last year.
