Gardaí is investigating social media posts allegedly from a well-known anti-lockdown activist commenting on serious harm to be inflicted on President Michael D. Higgins.
The investigation is one of at least three polls into the organizers of protests against the blockade in Dublin over the weekend.
Garda officials are examining the posts on social media.

Garda sources said they do not investigate every threat and spiel posted online, but the Irish Examiner learned that Gardaí is conducting an investigation.
Separately, on Sunday afternoon a demonstration was held at the Garden of Remembrance in Parnell Square in Dublin by protesters against the closure.
A man traveling to the event streamed live being arrested for gardaí on foot of a warrant in connection with a motoring crime.
As reported by the Irish Examiner on Monday, a protest involving some 50 people, believed to have traveled since the Garden of Remembrance rally, took place in front of Rathfarnham Garda station, where the man had been arrested.
Some of them had banners reading “No to mandatory vaccinations” and “End the blockade.”
A Garda statement said: “Gardaí attended the site of a demonstration in front of Rathfarnham Garda Station yesterday, Sunday 25 October 2020, which appears to be related to the arrest of a man on foot from an arrest warrant that was executed earlier that day. The man was arrested at Rathfarnham Garda station.
“The demonstration ended without incident. No one was arrested. Investigations are ongoing. ”
He added: “An investigation is underway targeting the organizers of this protest. The advice of the Director of the Public Ministry will be requested regarding any additional action that is taken ”.
A garda investigation is also underway on the organizers behind the rally at the Garden of Remembrance.
Last Thursday, Gardaí arrested 11 people, who had been participating in a protest against the lockdown, by law enforcement officers on Grafton Street.
