Five areas have been affected by an increase in new cases of Covid-19 in the latest figures released today by the Department of Health.
A total of 939 new coronavirus cases have been announced in Ireland, while three more deaths have been confirmed.
Dublin is once again the worst affected region in the country, with the capital registering 262 more infections.
This was followed by Cork with 96, while 61 new cases were reported in Meath, 53 in Galway, 51 in Donegal and the the remaining 413 are spread across all the remaining counties.
As of 2:00 p.m. today, 341 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 38 are in the ICU. There have been 16 additional hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.
Of the cases reported today:
- 444 are men / 483 are women
- 66% are under 45 years of age
- The average age is 32 years.
