The number of hospitalized patients with Covid-19 has risen to 344, with 26 admissions and nine discharges in the last 24 hours. This is the highest figure since May 20.
Last night there were 39 patients with the virus in the ICU, two more than the day before.
According to the Health Department, 17,572 tests were completed in the last 24 hours and 115,138 last week.
On Sunday, the Department of Health reported another 1,025 cases of Covid-19 and no additional deaths were reported. In Ireland a total of 57,128 cases have been confirmed and 1,882 people have died with the disease.
Of the last cases, 255 were in Dublin, 147 in Cork, 77 in Galway, 54 in Kildare, 53 in Donegal and the remaining 439 were distributed in 21 counties. The average age of those infected was 31 years.
The five-day moving average of virus cases has fallen for the fourth day in a row, according to the latest epidemiological report from the Health Protection Surveillance Center (HPSC).
At 979.6, the five-day average is below the 1,000 mark for the first time in 10 days.
The HPSC recorded 13 deaths in the past two weeks, along with 21 admissions to the ICU.
Cavan, Meath and Westmeath have the highest incidences of the disease in the counties, while Tipperary and Wicklow have the lowest.
Medical Director Dr. Tony Holohan said Sunday night: “If it is a confirmed case, has undergone a test or has symptoms of Covid-19, it should be isolated for 10 days.
“If you live with a case or have been told that you are a close contact, you must restrict your movements for 14 days. Everyone else must stay home, unless for essential reasons or to exercise within 5 km of where you live. “
