There have been five more Covid-19-related deaths in the past 24 hours in Northern Ireland, while 727 new cases of the virus have also been recorded, the Health Department announced there.
The death toll recorded by the department now stands at 658.
There have been 34,832 confirmed cases in Northern Ireland, including 6,828 in the last seven days.
There are currently 342 Covid-19 patients in hospital treatment, with 39 in intensive care.
A ward at Ulster Hospital on the outskirts of Belfast was closed for new admissions as patients and staff were affected by Covid-19.
The South Eastern Health Trust has confirmed that “there are currently several staff members and patients affected by Covid-19 in a medical ward at Ulster Hospital.”

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland police have issued more than 3,000 fines and warnings related to coronavirus regulations.
The 3,118 total includes 45 fines of £ 1,000 for failing to self-isolate.
There have also been 1,598 sanction notices, 1,075 community resolution notices, and 400 ban notices delivered since March.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) released the figures as part of its weekly update on policing the regulations.
The vast majority of fines or warnings were issued in the Belfast City Hall area (1,327).
Derry City and Strabane (503) followed, followed by Newry, Morne and Down (240), Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (236), Antrim and Newtownabbey (169) and Fermanagh and Omagh (167).
The least amount has been delivered in the Lisburn and Castlereagh council area (49).
