Two men charged with seizure of cannabis worth more than 7 million euros in the port of Dublin

A 49-year-old man and a 47-year-old man have been charged in connection with the seizure of more than 7 million euros of herbal cannabis in Dublin Port on Friday.

The drugs were seized upon arrival at the port of Dublin from Spain in a joint operation between the Customs Agents and the Gardaí attached to the National Office for Drugs and Organized Crime.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that the two men will appear in court this morning.

“Two men have been charged in connection with the seizure of herbal cannabis of more than 7 million euros by customs officials and the Gardaí attached to the Garda National Office for Drugs and Organized Crime ( GNDOCB) on Friday, October 23, 2020.

“The two men (aged 47 and 49) are scheduled to appear before the Criminal Justice Court, District Court number 2, on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 10:30 am.”

A 31-year-old man arrested in connection with this seizure has been released without charge.

Now a file will be prepared for the Director of the Public Ministry.
