Elderly pedestrian taken to hospital after altercation with driver in Ballincollig

Gardai is asking for witnesses after an elderly man was taken to hospital yesterday after an altercation with a driver in Ballincollig.

The incident occurred on Old Fort Road behind the Castlewest Mall around 3:30 pm yesterday.

The man in his 70s, who was a pedestrian, was involved in an altercation with a driver during which he was injured.

In a video seen by CorkBeo, an elderly woman can be seen standing next to a man lying in the middle of the road.

The man was taken to Cork University Hospital after the incident with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Gardaí is asking that anyone who witnesses this incident, or drivers with camera footage, contact Ballincollig Garda station 021-421 4680.
