West Bromwich Albion and Burnley met in a Premier League draw after both teams missed opportunities to record a first win of the season in a throbbing clash.
The result left West Brom 17th in the standings with two points from five games, while 18th place Burnley are one of four after a dominant performance in the second half.
Forward Karlan Grant took center stage for West Brom in the first half when he shot over the bar in the 18th minute before being disallowed for an offside goal in the 37th, after home goalkeeper Sam Johnstone would have stopped an Ashley Barnes effort.
West Brom came close again in the 58th minute when visiting goalkeeper Nick Pope blocked a shot from Grady Diangana and Branislav Ivanovic had the rebound blocked by a defender.
Chris Wood then hit the crossbar twice for Burnley, failing to convert an Ashley Westwood cross before missing the goal at his mercy after Johnstone stopped a Barnes header on his way.
West Brom lost the last chance of the game when Pope made an acrobatic save to avoid a volley from Matheus Pereira from close range in the 78th minute.
The result was the first Premier League goalless draw of the season.

West Brom coach Slaven Bilic was disappointed with the result, although he praised his team and acknowledged that part of the loot was a fair result.
“I told them after the game that we were looking for three points, but that they should take advantage of this,” the Croatian told Sky Sports.
“We created some chances, more than enough to score. They also had a couple to be fair. A draw was probably a fair result.
“We knew these are the games, I respect Burnley a lot, where you really need to win, or at least not lose. If we want to stay up, then we have to win these kinds of games.”
Burnley coach Sean Dyche also lamented that his team couldn’t come away with a win.
“With the quality of the opportunities we had, we could have gotten three points,” he said.
“It was a strange game, Barnes has a (opportunity), then there was a moment when we deserved a penalty. I think the quality of the opportunities was good, but we did not take them.”
