What level four out of five will mean for stores like Penneys and Smyths, hair salons, and restaurants

[ad_1]

Ireland is expected to move to a combination of Level Four and Level Five after today’s Cabinet meeting.

Changing levels will see a big difference in what you can and cannot do.

Party leaders have been meeting with health chiefs throughout the weekend as they reflect on the closure decision with a full cabinet meeting today.

Here, the Ministers will decide how close to Level Five they want to get and how much of the new restrictions will be from Level Four of the Living with Covid plan.

And for those worried about doing their Christmas shopping, getting a haircut, or going to eat, this is what would happen on levels four and five.

Rules of level four

At Level Four, all non-essential retailers would have to close. This includes stores like Penneys, Smyths, and many more such stores.

Supermarkets like Aldi, Tesco and the rest would remain open as they are considered essential.

Hair salons and salons would have to close.

The rules on the Government’s website say: “Essential retail stores and businesses that are primarily outdoors can only remain open. All other retail and personal services closed.”

Pubs, cafes and restaurants that can serve outdoors can continue to serve up to 15 people.

Rules of level five

At Level Five, all retail businesses would be closed, as would barber shops, hair salons, and all other personal services.

Wet bars and restaurants will no longer be able to serve outdoors and will be moved to take-out services only.
