There are a few gloomy days in store with Met Eireann forecasting a lot of heavy rain in the coming days with the possibility of flooding.
It’s a cloudy morning in the capital and the forecaster says we can expect some rain today with only a few limited periods of sunshine and highs of 12 ° C.
The showers will die down this afternoon but it will be a cold night with temperatures between 5 and 8 ° C.
It will be nice tomorrow morning with good sunny days and highs of 14C.
But the cloud will increase during the afternoon and the rain will spread from the south during the night.
Heavy rains will continue into early next week and Monday is predicted to be a wet and stormy day with very heavy rains and the possibility of flooding.
Here’s the national forecast for early next week:
Monday: “ Winds from south to southeast will be cool to strong and gusty near the windward shores. There will be less wind further west and northwest.
“Highs will range between 11 and 14 degrees. Windy with more spells of rain Monday night, sometimes heavy with flooding.
“Moderate to cool winds from south to southeast increasing from strong to almost gale and gusty near the coasts of Munster and Leinster. Low temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.”
Tuesday: “While the exact details remain uncertain, rains or longer periods of rain are likely to occur and there is the potential for strong and gusty winds from the south, especially near the coasts. Maximum temperatures will be around 13-15 degrees. “.
Wednesday: “ Currently, a calmer day is signaled with variable light winds turning later from the north.
“Possibly some residual rain in the northwest will clear up to the north, and rain could reach the south later in the day. Highs 11-14 degrees.”
