What would it look like for the country

The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) recommended that the country move to Level 5 of restrictions of the Government’s strategy to Live with Covid-19 for a period of six weeks.

Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal are currently under Level 4 restrictions amid ongoing concern over the infection rate. The rest of the country is below Level 3, although home visits were also restricted to essential circumstances this week.

Earlier this month, the government rejected a recommendation from Nphet that the country move to Level 5.

Here’s what the Level 5 restrictions would imply:

Can I travel outside of my county?

No. At level 5, you will be asked to stay home, with the exception that you can exercise within three miles of your home.

The council states that you must work from home unless you work in health, welfare or other essential services that cannot be done from home.

Can I have visitors to my home?

No. There should be no visitors in your home or garden.
