The Minister of Continuing and Higher Education, Simon Harris, has said that it was “probable, but not inevitable” that the State would have to move to Level 4 of the Living with Covid Plan.

Mr. Harris said he expected the “Enhanced Tier 3” measures to have an impact on increasing levels of transmissions.

Speaking at the Newstalk breakfast, the minister said that he was very concerned about the growing number of Covid-19 cases, but that he was not “buying into” the idea that it was inevitable that the country would have to move to level 4. “We can. get over it. ” this.”

It occurs when the Government has announced a nationwide ban on visiting homes or gardens in almost all circumstances, except for providing care to children or the elderly and vulnerable people.

Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal will transition to level 4 of the government’s Living with Covid plan from midnight Thursday through November 10.
