Young woman arrested at home in Dublin after Gardai carried out the secret drug plan Operation Tara

A woman was arrested and large amounts of drugs were seized following a property search in West Dublin yesterday.

Ecstasy and cocaine worth a combined total of 89,000 euros were stolen during the search in Clondalkin around 7:20 pm.

The residence in the Woodford area was raided by the Divisional Drug Unit as part of Operation Tara.

The woman in her 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at the Ballyfermot Garda station.

It can be held for up to 7 days.

It comes after drugs hidden in different labeled packages that were smuggled into Ireland by notorious UK, US and Spanish gangs were seized in a massive operation by Revenue yesterday.

Herbal cannabis, ketamine, heroin, methamphetamine, MDMA and crack cocaine were discovered from all three countries in packages destined for Dublin addresses.

As part of the routine checks and with the help of the detector dog Bailey, the Athlone Mail Center officers seized 1.5 kg of the illegal substances for an estimated value of 38,000 euros.

The packages were declared as items such as ‘t-shirt’, ‘sports phone case’ and ‘bicycle gloves’ and were also shipped to Galway, Sligo, Kilkenny, Louth, Meath, Wicklow and Kildare.
