Gardaí investigating the discovery of a woman’s body that was found at her home in West Dublin on Tuesday morning is treating her death as “unexplained” but suspects that no crime was found.
While the results of an autopsy on the remains were awaited before foul play could be conclusively ruled out, Garda sources said the case appeared to be a “tragedy” rather than a homicide.
The woman, who was in her 30s, was found dead in a house in Castlecurragh Vale, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15. Her remains were examined on the spot before being transferred to the Dublin City Mortuary, Whitehall, Dublin 9, for a full autopsy.
The house where the body was found was immediately sealed when the Gardaí arrived and has since been examined by members of the Garda Technical Office.
Garda sources said that while it may take some time before the autopsy and related tests, such as toxicology tests, are available, the first indications were that the woman had died in tragic circumstances.
