Dislocated shoulder ready to eliminate Jordan Larmour from Six Nations and Autumn Nations Cup

Jordan Larmour will miss Ireland’s resumption of the Six Nations campaign as well as the upcoming Fall Nations Cup.

ndependent.ie understands that Larmour faces up to 10 weeks out due to the shoulder injury he sustained in Leinster’s win over Benetton on Saturday.

Larmour is believed to have dislocated his shoulder and is now facing a long period on the sidelines.

The news will be a devastating setback for Larmour, who seemed poised to play a key role for Ireland in the coming weeks.

The 23-year-old was replaced after 48 minutes in Treviso and needed oxygen to relieve shoulder pain caused by a heavy tackle.

“Jordan has taken a pretty bad blow to the shoulder so we will evaluate it,” Leo Cullen said immediately after the game.

“You could see he was quite uncomfortable and stayed down for a while. We’ll scan him when we get back and then we’ll see the extent of that.

Andy Farrell will be forced to call in a replacement for Larmour ahead of Ireland’s camp this week as preparations begin for the Six Nations clash with Italy on October 24.

Farrell’s last three options will be tested and Keith Earls will also be ruled out with a back problem.

Dave Kearney is back in training and could be an option, while Rory O’Loughlin, Mike Haley and Rob Lyttle also hope to get Farrell’s attention.

A full update of the IRFU team is expected in the coming days.
