Met Eireann has said that a “warm front” will move this weekend bringing warmer conditions for the next few days.

The national forecaster wrote on Twitter today: “Timing is important: Tomorrow night, when a warm front moves from the Atlantic, lows will occur early in the evening before it warms up as the front moves.

“Here are forecast charts showing rainfall and surface temperatures for 11 pm and 4 am local time.”

And it will be hotter on Sunday and Monday, with highs of 15 ° C expected in some places.

However, it does not seem likely to last, with more “unstable conditions” developing this weekend.

A forecaster from Met Eireann said: “Tomorrow will be mostly dry with sunny periods. However, clouds will gradually build up from the Atlantic during the afternoon and drizzle will develop on the west and southwest coasts at night. The highest temperatures in 12 to 15 degrees, in a light westerly or variable breeze, then rising moderately to the south on the Atlantic coasts.

“The rain will become general Sunday night, with some strong gusts. Clearer conditions, mainly dry, with isolated coastal rains, will follow from the Atlantic, reaching the east and southeast coasts early Monday morning. Low temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees.

“Mostly moderate south winds at first, turning northwest with clearing, cool to strong off Atlantic coasts.

“A bright, mostly dry day Monday, with streaks of sunshine developing, but some scattered showers, mostly in the west and north. Highs 12-14 or 15 degrees, with moderate to cool winds from the northwest.

“Mostly dry on Tuesday, with sunny periods, but a few scattered showers likely along the north and east coasts. Highs 11-14 degrees, with mostly moderate breezes from north to northeast. Cold and mostly dry on Tuesday at night, with lows of 1 to 5 degrees, with a risk of pasture frosts, especially in the western half of the country.

“Dry in most areas on Wednesday, with periods of sunshine, but some scattered showers may occur along eastern shores. Max. 12-15 degrees, with mostly light or variable north breezes. Dry overnight, but cold, with lows of 0 to 4 Patches of fog and mist will form as the winds subside.

“Thursday is a mostly dry day, with gusts of sunshine and light winds, but irregular light rains and drizzle are possible along the west and southwest coasts. Also on Fridays, mainly dry, with gusts of sunshine and Light to moderate northeast breezes, 14 degrees max.

“The outlook for the weekend is uncertain, but early indications are that more volatile conditions are developing.”
