A MAN has been charged after Gardaí seized € 958,800 of suspicious drugs, € 489,120 in cash and three firearms earlier this month.
The man, who is 40, was due to appear before a special session of the Dundalk District Court at 6.45pm tonight.
Another man, who was arrested yesterday, remains in detention at Trim Garda station.
The men were arrested after gardaí from the Meath Divisional Drug Unit participated in searches along with the Eastern Region Armed Support Unit, the Garda National Office of Drugs and Organized Crime, as well as the Customs Unit and gardaí from Ashbourne.
A variety of suspicious drugs were seized as part of the search, along with a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol, two Walther 9mm pistols, two silencers, and 75 rounds of 9mm Luger and Fiocci ammunition.
A Garda spokesman said “investigations are ongoing.”
