Darren Randolph: 6
This was one of those nights where his concentration was put to the test and he was available to make an excellent early block, but penalties only brought frustration.
Matt Doherty: 6
A few moments of rope on the defensive, although his quick touches helped with the attack game. This has raised as many questions as it answers.
Shane Duffy: 8
A notch above his September shows with improved fitness and excellent second-half clearance showing awareness.
John Egan: 7
This was a confident display of the Sheffield United defender who paired up well with Duffy, showing good understanding confirming that this is a long-term package.
Enda Stevens: 7
The left stepped forward to be instrumental in a series of incisive breaks that could have made the jump and didn’t have too many problems defensively.
James McCarthy: 7
Deep frustration for Glasgow as they had made a solid change in the hour before the curse of injury struck again. He covered the ground well and tried to push higher.
Jeff Hendrick: 7
Another game in which he was transferred from one midfield position to another due to his versatility. A few casual moments in possession, but they adapted well to sitting briefly.
Conor Hourihane: 6
Frustration for the Corkman at wasting the chance to win after a game in which he was given a higher level of responsibility.
James McClean: 6
The last-minute inclusion, he looked haunted by being retired in a game in which he had mixed luck in attack, but made a vital early defensive punt to avoid a goal.
Callum Robinson: 7
He started on the right, switched to the left in one of his best shows for Ireland, even though he struggled to deliver the killer touch in the final third.
David McGoldrick: 9
The outstanding Irish player who shone when the game opened and a better finish derived from his work would have resulted in well-deserved applause.
Stephen Kenny: 7
This was a very different exhibit than the efforts in Georgia and Switzerland 12 months ago. The margins in this business are good. This was a step in the right direction.
