The Irish Football Association has confirmed that a backroom staff member of the international team has tested positive for Covid-19.

Two additional staff members are now restricting their movements based on contact tracing and Covid-19 protocols.

The two close contacts tested negative.

All three members of the backroom staff are asymptomatic and well.

All the players, the management team and other members of the backroom staff also tested negative.

The HSE has been informed and has written to the FAI confirming compliance with the public health advice and permission for the team, coaching staff and the rest of the backroom team to travel to Slovakia this afternoon.
