A recap of the GAA club action from the weekend as 13 county finals took place between hurling and Gaelic football.

Blackrock are county champions on Lee’s side for the first time since 2002. For the second game in a row, the Rockies needed extra time to cross the line as they beat Glen Rovers in an epic competition, 4-26 to 4-18. .

With a strong wind at Pairc Uí Chaoimh, the south side club dug deep for the first 60 minutes. However, in the first part of extra time they walked away, as two goals helped them to an eight point lead after the 10 minute period.

From there, Patrick Horgan and company had a lot to do as the Rockies withstood a comeback from Blackpool’s side to seal a record 33rd title.

Moycullen are county champions for the first time, after beating Mountbellew-Moylough 2-12 to 1-11.

It is the first time since 2012 that the Frank Fox Cup will not overwinter in Corofin, as Conamara’s team ran out of four-point winners.

The Nemo Rangers are still on track to defend their county title, after a 0-14 to 2-7 victory over divisional team Duhallow at Pairc Uí Rinn. They await the winners of Castlehaven vs St Finbarr in the semi-final on Sunday night.

Derry SFC

Slaughtneil has regained their Derry crown, after a 0-11 to 1-4 win over reigning champions Magherafelt. Slaughtneil has won five titles since 2014, completing another hurling-football double.
