Coronavirus Ireland: Exact location of latest COVID-19 cases in Dublin with worryingly high rates in two areas

North Dublin continues to have the highest number of coronavirus cases in the capital, shocking new figures have revealed.

The latest data from the Center for Health Protection and Surveillance shows that Dublin accounted for 2,004 of the 3,845 cases recorded in Ireland in the two weeks to midnight on Friday 25 September.

Figures recorded by the eight local HSE health offices show that areas north of Liffey continue to be hit hardest by the deadly virus.

Dublin North West, which covers Dublin areas 7, 11 and 15, recorded the highest number of cases with 413.

Dublin North, which stretches from Balbriggan to Howth and includes Malahide, Portmarnock, Swords, Rush and Artane, follows closely with 319 infections.

Dublin South, which covers Dun Laoghaire, Blackrock, Stillorgan and Loughlinstown, remains the least infected part of the capital, although cases have risen to 102.

Dublin South West, which serves Crumlin, Walkinstown, Drimnagh and Tallaght recorded 260 cases, while there were 237 in Dublin West.

The Dublin North Central area reported 280 cases of the deadly virus, while Dublin South City, which stretches from the city center to Ballyfermot, recorded 184 infections.

The Dublin South East office, which stretches from Sandymount to Sandyford, reported 206 cases.

The death toll from COVID-19 in Ireland skyrocketed to more than 1,800 yesterday after it was confirmed that another five people have sadly died from the virus.

Health chiefs also confirmed 248 additional cases of the disease with 104 in Dublin.

The total number of cases in the country since the pandemic began now stands at 34,560.
