Republic of Ireland striker Callum Robinson scored twice, but Chelsea’s impressive second-half comeback 3-0 against earned them a point at West Brom.

Tammy Abraham’s striker drew a 3-3 draw after Frank Lampard’s team looked beaten at halftime.

Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi struck after the restart to help break Baggies’ heart.

The Blues’ defensive weaknesses were exposed in the first half when Robinson received a double on errors by Marcos Alonso and Thiago Silva.

Kyle Bartley went unmarked from a corner to score a third while Chelsea was exposed.

Timo Werner hit the crossbar when they were only 1-0 trailing and while it was another embarrassing display from behind, Chelsea can take comfort in his return.

Albion missed their first Premier League win of the season after losing heavily to Leicester and Everton.

Willy Caballero replaced the fallen Kepa Arrizabalaga, but Chelsea’s defensive woes continued as they fell behind after just four minutes.

Alonso lost possession cheaply to Matheus Pereira and lunged forward to find Robinson, who hit a nice low shot to the corner.

Lampard has overseen just one clean sheet away from home in 21 Premier League games and hopes new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, following his arrival from Rennes, will help solve his problems.

Sam Johnstone stopped Kai Havertz’s 20-yard effort and Abraham shot from close range as the visitors tried to respond.

Abraham should have done better and Werner came closer after 15 minutes when he clipped Mount’s crossbar.

But any hope of an instant recovery was ended with more defensive howls when the Baggies scored twice in three minutes.

First, without pressure, Silva allowed the ball to pass under his foot and Robinson passed to finish off Caballero.

Things quickly took a turn for the worse for the visitors after 28 minutes, when Darnell Furlong headed a Pereira corner kick to the unmarked Bartley to volley from close range.

Even with their offensive riches, Chelsea seemed to have no turning back and Grady Diangana had a chance to make it 4-0 just before the break, but passed 18 yards.

Lampard replaced Mateo Kovacic and Alonso with Hudson-Odoi and Cesar Azpilicueta at halftime.

Chelsea emerged with greater urgency and began their comeback 10 minutes after the restart when Mount spun 25 yards and shot into the bottom corner past a static Johnstone.

The keeper deflected Havertz’s deflected effort immediately afterward and the tough Albion tried to hold his ground until Hudson-Odoi made it 3-2 with 20 minutes to go.

The substitute traded passes with Havertz to send him into the box and confidently stroked Johnstone.

Romaine Sawyers fired wide for Albion, but they couldn’t survive another late attack and Abraham rescued Chelsea in injury time when he tapped after Johnstone stopped Mount’s shot.
