US DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL candidate Joe Biden said he expects “personal attacks and lies” from Donald Trump in his first televised debate on Tuesday, comparing the Republican president to Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels.
“It’s going to be difficult,” the former vice president acknowledged in an interview broadcast on MSNBC.
“I suppose it will be a direct attack. They will be primarily personal. That’s the only thing he knows how to do, ”he said about the Republican president.
“You don’t know how to debate the facts. She’s not that smart, ”Biden continued. “She doesn’t know much about foreign policy, she doesn’t know much about domestic policy. She doesn’t know much about the details. “
As a result, Biden predicted, “it will be primarily personal attacks and lies; but I think the American people are following him. “
Tuesday’s debate in Cleveland, Ohio, will be the first time the 77-year-old political veteran has faced the president he vowed to dethrone. The men will meet again for two more debates before the elections on November 3.
But some of his supporters fear that Biden, who is prone to mistakes and lapses, may waver in these televised debates under the rhetorical blows of Trump, who is also prone to mistakes and lapses, but is far more aggressive.
Trump himself never stops poking fun at what he says is his rival’s lack of dynamism, nicknames him “Sleepy Joe” and attacks his mental acuity.
The Democrat, however, said he was prepared.
“People know that the president is a liar,” Biden said.
“It’s kind of like Goebbels,” Biden said. “You tell the lie long enough, you keep repeating it, repeating it, repeating it, it becomes common knowledge.”
“It’s not like it’s a surprise. So I’m prepared to come out and make my case for why I think it has failed and why I think the answers I have to continue will help the American people and the American economy, and make us more secure internationally. “

With just 39 days left until the U.S. election, Trump stepped up his campaign with back-to-back events yesterday in battle states, a frantic pace in contrast to the calmer approach of his Democratic rival.
The 74-year-old president’s 12-hour schedule in three states culminated with an evening rally in Newport News, Virginia. At the time, the US media reported that he was ready to nominate Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, who if confirmed would cement a solid conservative majority in the nation’s highest court.

“We’re going to announce someone cool,” he told the crowd without mentioning a name.
“Morning [Saturday] I think it’s going to be a great day! “he added, as the crowd roared with approval.
Trump, who follows Biden in national polls and is far behind in several swing states that are seen as crucial on his reelection path, is under pressure to make the most of the weeks left before the election.

During his fast-paced day, the president mocked his rival for a lower-energy campaign, saying that Biden would “stay again today.”
“This guy never goes out. It’s terrible, huh? told at a black economic empowerment event in Atlanta, where few people wore masks and social distancing was non-existent.
“If I lose to a man who doesn’t campaign … I don’t know,” he told the laughing crowd.
Biden traveled from his home in Delaware to Washington on Friday to attend a ceremony at the United States Capitol when the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was in state there.
But there was no in-person campaign on the former vice president’s schedule.
