GARDAÍ IS REQUESTING witnesses after the assault on two teenagers in Crumlin, Co Dublin.

The incident occurred shortly after noon on Monday in Eamonn Ceannt Park (Sundrive Park).

It is understood that it is being investigated as a possible racially motivated incident.

The two boys were with several friends in the park Monday afternoon when three grown men approached them.

A 15-year-old boy was physically and verbally assaulted by the three men and taken to the Children’s Hospital of Our Lady with injuries that do not endanger his life.

A friend, aged 14, tried to intervene and was also physically and verbally assaulted by one of the three men. He did not require treatment for his injuries.

Investigating Gardaí said the three suspects, in their 20s, left the park on Sundrive Road on foot.

One of the men was reported to be wearing a black jacket, while the other two were wearing a dark gray jacket and a blue jacket.
