Gardaí surprised a motorist who was off the roads for four years by driving in front of a Garda station in Cork.

The person in question was observed to stop in front of the Gurranabraher Garda station before entering the station to request a driver’s license renewal form.

When Gardaí checked the system, they discovered that the driver had been disqualified from driving for four years.

The car they were driving also did not have a valid NCT and was not insured.

“Gardaí in Gurranabraher observed a car turn suddenly towards Garda station.

The driver then entered the station’s public office requesting a driver’s license renewal form.

“A quick review of the system showed that the driver was disqualified from driving for four years,” Gardaí said in a statement posted yesterday on its official Facebook page.

“The car had no insurance and the NCT expired since January.

“Driver arrested and then left the station with two charge sheets, a court date but no driver’s license renewal form,” they continued.
