Met Eireann is urging people to make the most of today’s sunny weather as it won’t be around for a while.
The weather is expected to get wetter and cooler starting Tuesday and there is no indication that good conditions will return at the moment.
The cloud has already engulfed much of the west this Monday afternoon, but for those in the east and south, Met Eireann has a message.
The forecaster tweeted: “Today is the last day in the current period of warm sunny weather.

“The cloud has already risen in the northwestern half of the country, but if you live in Leinster or Munster, take some time outside to enjoy the sun and heat while it lasts.
“It will be much cooler later this week.”
Temperatures are expected to drop as low as 4 ° C at night later this week, while Thursday could be a cold day and the mercury will not be past mid-teens.
The forecaster added: “Cool and moody for the rest of the week, with periods of rain and showers, but also some drier periods.”
