GARDAÍ IN THE WEST OF Dublin has detained a man following searches that resulted in the seizure of 300,000 euros worth of cocaine and a semiautomatic pistol.
Officers attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Office (GNDOCB), assisted by a local drugs unit at Blanchardstown Garda station, conducted searches at various locations over the past two days as part of an ongoing investigation against organized crime.
During the course of these searches, a quantity of cocaine with an estimated street value of 300,000 euros was located and seized. A Grand Power brand semiautomatic firearm and ammunition were also seized.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and is currently being detained at the Blanchardstown garda station.
Speaking today, Deputy Commissioner John O’Driscoll said that An Garda Síochána “continues to target those suspected of being involved in serious and organized crime and attempt to locate and seize drugs they intend to sell within our communities and firearms that possess for the purpose of causing harm to others ”.
