One man died and three others were seriously injured in a car accident this morning.
Gardai is at the scene of the fatal collision, which occurred around 11:50 am on the N15 near Rathcormack, Co Sligo.
Two cars collided there and the driver of one of the cars, a man in his 40s, was killed.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger of his car was treated at the scene.
The driver, in her 30s, of the second car was taken to Galway University Hospital by air ambulance, where her condition is described as serious.
Both passengers in the second car were also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The road is currently closed as a forensic team examines the scene. There are local deviations.
Gardai is asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any information in relation to the collision, to come forward.
They are calling on road users traveling on the N15 between Sligo and Rathcormack between 11.30 and 12.15 this morning to contact them.
Anyone who may have footage from the camera (including the dash cam) should make it available to Gardai.
