More club championship matches in Galway and Cork have been postponed due to Covid-19 concerns.

The Galway IFC semi-final between Cortoon Shamrocks and Dunmore MacHales was called off today just an hour before kick-off due to a player from one of the teams “coming into close contact with a suspected Covid 19 case.”

Last night’s Galway SHC semi-final between reigning champions St Thomas’ and Cappataggle was also postponed after a player tested positive while the county junior and senior camouflage finals were canceled earlier in the week.

A second quarter-final of the Cork SFC will also be played.

Today’s Newcestown against St Finbarr’s match has been tentatively re-arranged for Tuesday evening and Newcestown is reportedly awaiting Covid test results.

The round of 16 meeting between Ballincollig and Nemo Rangers was postponed on Thursday after a positive test at Ballincollig camp.
