When asked about the incident at tonight’s briefing, Leo said: “I was in Merrion Square filming a video to explain to the people of Dublin some of the decisions that were made today.
“The good news is that we finished it before the incident happened, so it will be published later tonight.
“When I saw her coming towards me, I actually thought it was Avril Lavigne at first because she had a skateboard and everything, but unfortunately it wasn’t.
“She also had a shake that ended up all over my face and up to half of my suit, but look, I had a spare suit and I just went about the day job.
“I haven’t talked to the gardai yet, but I think they want to talk to me, but it will be next week.”
