Gardai is asking for witnesses after a young child was seriously injured in a collision involving a scramble and quad bike in West Dublin.

The horror clash took place around 7pm at Cherry Orchard Park in Ballyfermot last night.

A woman in her 20s was sitting on a stationary quad with a baby when a scrambler hit the quad.

The baby had to be rushed to Children’s Health Ireland in Crumlin with serious injuries.

The latest reports say that he is currently in a stable condition.

The scrambler’s alleged driver, a man in his late teens, was taken to St James Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A Garda spokesperson said: “The scene has been preserved for technical examination. The scrambler involved in the collision had been removed from the scene before Gardaí arrived.”
