Images on social media show scenes inside a party at a Limerick student house where dozens of people gathered like sardines.
Videos on social media show groups of young men and women huddled in a living room while music blasts.
Students could be seen on top of each other as they danced and sang without paying attention to social distancing guidelines.
The incident occurred in the student area of Limerick College Court, near Castletroy.
Gardai was called to the party at 1 a.m. early Tuesday, where they said they spoke to residents.
A Garda statement said: “Gardaí attended and spoke with residents of a home in the College Court area at 1 am on September 15.
“An Garda Síochána continues to respond to meeting reports and interact with communities with a view to implementing the guidelines issued by the Government and HSE to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our community as a whole.
“By endorsing the COVID-19 public health guidelines, An Garda Síochána has adopted a graduated police response based on its tradition of consent policing. This has seen Garda members participate, educate, encourage, and as a last resort , enforce”.
