Teen charged in connection with murder of homeless man in Kilmainham, Dublin

A teenager will appear in court today charged in connection with the murder of a homeless man in Kilmainham.

The body of the Romanian in his 40s was discovered in an alley off Madison Road early Monday morning.

It is understood that the victim, a foreigner in his 40s, was assaulted and had his mobile phone stolen.

He suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident, which took place on South Circular Road at around 1.30 a.m. Monday morning.

A Garda spokesman revealed this morning that the teenager who was arrested has been charged.

They said: “The minor arrested in connection with the murder of a man in an alley on Madison Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8 has been charged.

“You are due to appear in Dublin District Juvenile Court at 10:30 am this morning, Tuesday 15 September 2020.”
