Four counties will see temperatures of 25 ° C or more on Tuesday when the east of the country receives some sun in September.

Met Eireann predicts another scorching heat for much of the country, though the west will be a bit colder.

However, most areas will see temperatures of 20 ° C or around that with good periods of sunshine.

Dublin, Carlow, Kildare and Laois are currently forecast to be the warmest places in the country.

A forecaster from Met Eireann said: “Any lingering showers in the east tomorrow morning will soon die out and become sunnier in the afternoon. It will remain more cloudy in parts of the west where more showers will develop.

“Some of these could be heavy and slow moving. Highest temperatures 19-24 degrees, warmer in Leinster, with light or variable south breezes.”
