The last places of the Co-Op Superstores Cork Premier SHC semi-final will be decided tonight when Na Piarsaigh meets UCC in Páirc Uí Rinn.

The winners of this game will face Blackrock in a wide-open championship after the students beat Imokilly, who was chasing four in a row, the last time.

Na Piarsaigh, meanwhile, finished second in Group C behind Glen Rovers, who will play Erin’s Own in the other semi-final.

Ger Cunningham and Seanie McGrath are on commentary duty alongside Des Curran, with our coverage starting at 6.45pm before the 7pm kick-in.

Here’s our preview of the game:

Premier SHC Quarterfinals: UCC v Pearse, Ring Park (D Copps), 7 p.m.

Despite the loss to rivals from the north in their last group match, Na Piarsaigh still advanced in second place. Evan Sheehan was in good shape against the Glen, but the Fair Hill side will need others to take the burden of scoring. Shane Forde, Craig Hanifin and Pádraig Guest can provide such assistance.

UCC defeated Duhallow before ending champion Imokilly’s three-year reign. Shane Conway and Owen McCarthy have been at the forefront in the attack, while Shane Barrett has also made his presence felt. Limerick’s Mark Coleman, James Keating and Paddy O’Loughlin have been influential around the eight media.

Verdict: UCC.
