A man has died in hospital after a serious assault that occurred in Dublin on Wednesday 2 September.
The man in his 40s had suffered serious head injuries in an incident in Seville Place, Dublin 1, in the early hours of Wednesday 2 September. He was taken by ambulance to Mater Hospital but was pronounced dead this morning.
His body was transferred to the Dublin city morgue, where a post-mortem examination was carried out this afternoon.
Preliminary autopsy results cannot be released for operational reasons, Gardaí said.
To date no arrests have been made in the case, but Gardaí is following a defined line of investigation.
Gardaí is renewing its appeal to anyone who has witnessed this incident to come forward. They are also attractive to road users who may have camera footage, including the dash cam, of the area at the time to make available to them.
