A gang of thugs seriously wounds a young man and a man in a night of terror in an early morning attack in the city of Dublin

A gang of thugs left a young woman and a man seriously injured after a shocking morning attack in central Dublin.

Both young men in their 20s were assaulted while out at night on South Richmond Street just before 2 a.m.

The couple received a series of serious injuries from which they are still recovering, but their condition is described as not life-threatening.

A Garda manhunt has been launched to find the ruthless attackers still at large in the city.

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed the attack on Dublin Live.

She said: “Gardaí is investigating an assault incident that occurred on South Richmond Street in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, September 12 at approximately 1.30 am.

“A man and a woman, in their 20s, suffered several serious but not life-threatening injuries during the incident.”

He added: “No further information is available at this time and investigations are ongoing.”
